State College-based Shaner Hotel Group, a growing hospitality firm with multiple midstate hotels, is planning to build a Fairfield Inn & Suites hotel in the Cumberland County development.
That project could get started in the fourth quarter or by the first quarter of 2019 and take about a year to build, Shaner officials said last week. The company on Wednesday will open its $14 million Fairfield at Harrisburg International Airport in Dauphin County.
Meanwhile, Delta is working with the Pennsylvania Medical Society on plans to build a 30,000-square-foot headquarters on another lot in the park, according to Eric Clancy, Delta Development’s executive vice president. The society is a trade organization for physicians and medical students throughout the state.
“We are working through due diligence with the Pennsylvania Medical Society,” Clancy said.
A 9.5-acre site, known as Lot 3 in the park, is under contract. Clancy said building design and land development plans are being drafted. With township approvals, he said construction could get underway by the first quarter of 2019.
The medical society, which has its office in Lower Paxton Township, declined to comment on the Delta Pointe site.
Delta Pointe is home to four other facilities. Engineering firm Gatter & Diehl Inc. was the first tenant in the park. Other tenants include AgChoice Farm Credit, an agricultural credit association; Penn State Medical Group Mechanicsburg, a primary care clinic; and The Carlisle Group, an executive recruiting firm.
