As president and CEO, Kauffman aligns the resources required to realize PeoplesBank’s mission by investing in the executive leadership team and spending time with clients, prospects and shareholders. He also commits time to volunteer leadership with local organizations with the intention of making local communities a better place. 

He started with PeoplesBank in 2018. Previously, he spent three years as regional president for BB&T, after two years as division leader for Susquehanna Bank. Prior to that, Kauffman spent 24 years in a variety of roles including corporate, commercial and business banking at PNC and CoreStates Bank. 

Kauffman said his appointment as president and CEO of PeoplesBank in 2018 was a hallmark moment in his professional career. “However, my most transformative accomplishment was my election as president of Safari Club International from 2013 to 2015. The opportunity provided many multicultural experiences, governmental and business learnings, friendships and memories,” he said. 

One of Kauffman’s most important life lessons: The possibilities of realizing outcomes beyond expectations are geometric when you invest in others and give them the credit. Investing in the individual growth of others drives their success and allows them to realize their potential. When harnessed in a dedicated team, these collective efforts lead to extraordinary outcomes. 

Kauffman’s passion to hunt and travel has fueled decades of hunting around the world. Over the last 30 years. He has taken more than 80 trips on five continents, visiting 23 countries and six Canadian provinces, and 17 states. “I am frequently asked, ‘which is my favorite?’ My reply is ‘my next one’,” he said.
