We asked and you answered! For the past three weeks we’ve polled our readers for information about which government programs are working, what your post-pandemic plans look like and what concerns you have regarding quarantine restrictions and other COVID-19 issues. Thanks to you we have a better picture of what kind of information you need to navigate this pandemic and return successfully to work in a “new normal.”

We invite you to take about five minutes to complete this anonymous survey. We plan to launch more surveys every week to measure regional progress and stay on top of news you want and need.
Survey #1 Results
In our first survey, distributed in early April, we asked for some basic information. More than 90 percent of respondents were only somewhat or not prepared at all for COVID-19. Some respondents had to close their doors, while others transitioned to remote work spaces. You also told us how you were getting updates, more than half reported the PA Department of Health daily briefings were helpful, and let us know what you’re doing to keep employees safe.
Survey #2 Results
In our second survey, we introduced some different questions about plans to get back to work, new technology and government loan program options. More than 80 percent of respondents said they plan to return to normal or a new normal that incorporates some of the new policies, like working from home. The federal government’s Payroll Protection Plan was overwhelmingly identified as the most applied for program for small business loans.
