Tröegs Independent Brewing
At Tröegs Independent Brewing in Hershey visitors can enjoy some suds and take a look at how it’s made: from the brew deck to a peak into the cellars, and a view of the packing line.
Locally sourced, “scratch brewing” Thursdays, where new ideas are prepped for draft only carries the ever-present “why not” motto.
Tröegs Founders and brothers Chris and John Trogner – the company name is a mash-up of their name and the Flemish word for pub, kroeg, continue to grow Tröegs Independent Brewing in Hershey with fresh ideas and local ingredients, sharing what they’ve made.
From the first pint of Tröegs Pale Ale sold in July 1997 to an extended “family” of 175 employees, the brothers and business partnership continue to challenge themselves, the industry, and their brewing chops with the same simple question, “why not?”
At the brewery, customer participation is huge and the annual Art of Tröegs contest opens the doors to original art inspired by beer, as well as a chance to have your art on the label.
The contest finale includes a gallery opening where art submissions are displayed.
Past winners have created brewery signs, reinvented the Nugget Nectar First Squeeze, an annual blending of three hop varieties into Imperial Amber Ale, and painted the Tröegs food truck.
Last year more than 70 submissions were entered. Entries for this year’s contest should be submitted online by April 26, 2020 and include entrants name, mailing address, email address and phone number. For information about the contest and prizes visit troegs.com
