The Hotel Hershey
It started with a postcard.
When Milton S. Hershey decided to build The Hotel Hershey, perched on the top of Pat’s Hill during the Great Depression his vision mirrored a 30-room hotel he had visited in the Mediterranean.
The resulting hotel, with a view of the chocolate industry entrepreneur’s factory, featured a U-shape, towers at either end of the main building and 170-rooms. A Spanish patio, tile floors, a fountain and dining room without corners were elements of the design.
Luxurious by any standard, but exceptional during America’s hardest financial times of the 20th century, Hershey also stimulated the local economy by providing work and jobs to those who needed them.
Located at 100 Hotel Road in Hershey, The Hotel Hershey today offers 276 rooms with views of the gardens and the picturesque Hershey Valley. Guest rooms, suites and cottages provide options for family, romantic escapes or for business travelers.
Area attractions abound, with a stay at The Hotel Hershey within striking distance of many area attractions, among them are Hersheypark, the 23-acre botanical Hershey Gardens, The Hershey Story: The Museum on Chocolate Avenue and the Hershey Theatre.
Recreation at The Hotel Hershey includes pools and facilities, fitness and hiking trails, Hershey golf, Hershey outfitters, disc golf, a kid’s club and falconry experience, including hawks, falcons and a Golden Eagle.
From the spa, dining and shopping, to celebrations, weddings and milestone events, The Hotel Hershey offers services, seasonal treats and amenities year round.
