Broad Street Market
What are you hungry for?
From crepes to Greek, Mexican and African foods, distilled spirits, beer and wine, Vegan, organic and pickles a trip to the Broad Street Market in Harrisburg aims to satisfy just about any craving.
Since 1860 the Broad Street Market has been a constant, reliable place to find community – get to know the vendors by name, for provisions and comestibles as well as something good to eat.
With 40 vendors the market fills up three city blocks, located at 1233 North Third Street, or Third and Verbeke streets. The last of its kind, the Broad Street Market is the only remaining farmers market in Harrisburg. It is among the oldest continually operating farmers markets in the United States.
From the Stone Building to the Brick Building producers and purveyors offer an abundance of fresh goods to stock the larger, pantry, fridge and set the table.
Floral bouquets and single fresh cut stems are available for creative do-it-yourself table arrangements as are body care products. Look for all natural treats and chews for the dogs in the house.
Don’t forget the meats and cheese! Soft pretzels warm from the oven, apple dumplings, baked goods and rye bread, cold pressed juices, coffee and tea and the seasonal produce, fresh from the field.
The Broad Street Market is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For information visit broadstreetmarket.org.
