Mount Hope Estate Winery
Home to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, the Mount Hope Estate Winery in Manheim offers education, tastings and of course an ample selection of house produced wines against the rolling hills and lush vines across the roughly 35-acre property.
Outdoor festivals, indoor theater, a Victorian wine shop and on-site brewery and winery provide reasons to visit year after year, and all year long.
Sample wines including Becky’s Blush, Blackberry Merlot, Mount Hope Pennsylvania Chardonnay and Ginger Honey Citrus Apple wine, to name a few. There are house reds like Malbec and sweet Vidal blanc ice wine.
Look for port, sangrias (white and red), specialty Sleighride specialty wines, Rieslings and raspberry wines, just a few of the many wines you’ll discover and find on the table at Mount Hope Estate Winery.
The winery’s site is also home to Lancaster County Cider, Swashbuckler Brewing Company and Rumspringa Brewing Company, for those who prefer micro brewed beers and ales and specialty hopped offerings.
Theater in the mansion performances as well as various outdoor festivals gives area visitors and patrons a reason to make Mount Hope Estate Winery a regular destination.
The land and buildings are steeped in history. Located on the grounds of a 1779 estate the property’s original owners, the Grubb family, used Mount Hope as their summer home for four generations. In 1784 an iron furnace was established at Mount Hope. The original family gardens, landscaped with trees to create a colorful floral grand avenue may be enjoyed by visitors today.
The restored Federal Period-style mansion is used for offices on the second and third floors.
Mount Hope Estate Winery is located at 2775 Lebanon Road in Manheim.
