Commonwealth Professor of Business Advising and director of the Business Advising Program since 2020, Johnson was dean of the law school from 2015-2020. “I also speak regularly to regulators, universities and financial institutions about finance documentation across the globe including the Americas, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia,” he said. 

As a professor, he teaches courses on business organizations, securities regulation, nonprofit organizations, entity taxation and finance documentation. His responsibility as director of the Business Advising Program is to coordinate the business law curriculum. 

While he was dean, the law school developed the Veterans Initiative. “We strive to be the preeminent and most welcoming law school in the country for veterans, service members and military families,” Johnson said. 

In 2019, he received his black belt in tae kwon do, along with his son. Johnson is also active in his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
