The patient shot by police on Nov. 3 at Chambersburg Hospital has been identified.
He was Dennis Kirk, age 64, according to a Pennsylvania State Police public information officer, Trooper Robert Hicks.
No additional information on Kirk is available at this time, Hicks said Monday.
It was previously reported on Thursday that Kirk, a patient at the hospital, began threatening an employee with a knife.
State police responded around 8 a.m. Thursday. After officers tried unsuccessfully to restrain Kirk, who was threatening police, he was fatally shot.
