Ceoltas Irish Pub changing hands in downtown Harrisburg

Ceoltas Irish Pub in downtown Harrisburg could soon have a new owner.

The three-floor, 13,150-square-foot restaurant in the 300 block of North Second Street, which went on the market last year, is under contract, according to Bo Mangam, the buyer’s agent with East Pennsboro Township-based Landmark Commercial Realty Inc.

The prospective buyer is VMV Restaurant LLC, based in New York, according to a pending liquor license transfer.

“They will definitely change the place,” Mangam said.

The purchase price, which includes the liquor license, was not disclosed.

Nik Sgagias of Wormleysburg-based NAI CIR is the listing agent on the property.

Ceoltas opened in 2005. It is owned by Desmond Conboy and Brendan Gilsenan of Congil Inc. They also own an Irish pub in Stroudsburg.

They listed the property because the time commitment got to be too much for the out-of-town owners, who have other business interests, Mangam said in September 2014. Management of the restaurant also was an issue.
