Centric’s Husic named one of the ‘Most Powerful Women in Banking’

Centric Bank President and CEO Patti Husic has been named one of the 20 “Most Powerful Women in Banking,” an annual list compiled by national publication American Banker.

Husic previously had been ranked by the publication as a “Woman to Watch” in banking in 2013 (No. 17) and 2014 (No. 7) but cracked the list of the most powerful women this year.

She is only one of two women to be named to the list from a Pennsylvania-based bank. The other is Karen Larrimer, who finished one spot ahead of Husic at No. 18. Larrimer is the chief customer officer for PNC Financial Services Group Inc. of Pittsburgh.

The publication credited Husic’s embrace of social media for both her and Centric as a reason she placed on the list, as well as her turnaround of Centric — called Vartan National Bank when she came on — and her stint as immediate past president of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association.

While with the group, she started the Women in Banking conference, which had its second annual meeting in the spring. The article also cites five straight years of annual profits, with a sixth likely on the way.

This year, she’s led the bank with expansion into the Philadelphia market and turned parent Centric Financial Corp. into a publicly traded company on the OTC exchange under the ticker symbol CFCX.

Lower Paxton Township-based Centric has about $329 million in assets, four branches in Cumberland and Dauphin counties and a loan production office in Bucks County.
