Central Pennsylvania Blood Banks inventory of O-positive and O-negative blood yesterday fell to emergency levels, so the organization is calling for people with those blood types to donate. The Hummelstown, Dauphin County-based group also is seeking donors of other blood types.
Every two seconds, someone needs blood, according to the blood bank. Eighty-five percent of adults may donate, but only about 7 percent do. To give to the group, call (800) 771-0059.
