Carlisle Construction Materials is expanding even more than planned as business remains good, the company said in an update this week.
CCM is the parent division of Carlisle Syntec Inc. within the larger North Carolina-based Carlisle Cos. Inc. The company employs about 535 people at its facility on Ritner Highway in Carlisle.
Work continues at its Ritner Highway, Carlisle, location, where the company is building a 72,500-square-foot facility to produce roofing membrane. All of the equipment has arrived, CCM said, and installation is nearing completion.
Carlisle Syntec announced the expansion plans last year, which included $222,500 in assistance from the state Department of Community and Economic Development. The project is slated to be completed later this year.
At its Greenville, Ill., facility, CCM finished a new PVC production line in the spring. The new line added 23,000 square feet to the facility and cost $2 million. It added 25 jobs.
In its latest update, CCM said work has started to add a blending tower, which will allow CCM to control all aspects of manufacturing, including the compounding of the raw material ingredients for its PVC formula.
Scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter, the tower will give CCM “a significant advantage” in the production of its PVC products, the update said.
Lastly, CCM added a second production line recently at its Montgomery, N.Y., facility. The 360,000-square-foot facility ships insulation to the northeast U.S. and Canada.
