MANTEC’s mission statement is Accelerating Manufacturing Excellence. Newell’s main roles are to set strategy for MANTEC to best serve the 3,000+ manufacturers in nine counties in southcentral Pennsylvania and to work with the company’s team and various partners to provide solutions in sales and marketing, process improvement, manufacturing technology, and workforce engagement.
He has served in his current position since December 1, 2020, succeeding his long-term predecessor, John Lloyd, who is enjoying retirement.
Newell is proud to have been named president and CEO of MANTEC. He said he is proud of its mission and impact in the region. He is also proud of founding and operating manufacturing companies including American Manufacturing & Integration LLC that provided family sustaining, high value careers doing important work that impacted lives on a daily basis.
He said he has learned the important life lesson of choosing to surround himself and spend time with people who are positive and add value, laughter, strength, and character to his life and to others. “I find I am happier and more successful because of these associations and their pursuits,” he said.
Newell enjoys spending time with family and friends. Usually outside, boating, skiing, hiking, SCUBA diving, etc. “My family values traveling to see and learn about different cultures and places. So far we have visited over 30 states, 12 countries, and four continents. One of our favorite places is Hawaii at Christmas,” he said.
