Brokerage firm opens new office in Lancaster

Stifel, Nicolaus & Co. Inc., a broker-dealer subsidiary of Stifel Financial Corp. has opened an office in Lancaster, marking the firm’s 19th office in Pennsylvania.

Joining the East Lampeter Township office is veteran financial adviser Peter Scudner as senior vice president. Scudner comes to Stifel from Janney Montgomery Scott and has more than 33 years of investment industry experience.

“There has been significant interest in this part of Pennsylvania, and we are pleased that Peter chose Stifel to build on his remarkable career,’ Stifel’s director of branch offices, Allen Brautigam, said in a statement.

Headquartered in St. Louis, Stifel Financial is a financial services holding company that conducts banking, securities and financial services business through several wholly owned subsidiaries. Last year, the company reported net revenues of $2.9 billion.

“We chose Stifel for its financial strength, nationally recognized research, breadth and depth of capabilities on the institutional platform and the ability to access those capabilities seamlessly to help our clients pursue their goals,” Scudner said in a statement.
