Funkhouser has been with Buchart Horn for 42 years. As CEO, he drives the firm’s mission, vision and overall strategic direction providing high-quality, responsive engineering and architectural services to a range of governmental, industrial, institutional, commercial, and private clients.
He previously served as the firm’s president and CEO, and prior to that, served three years as the senior vice president of PACE Resources, Inc., Buchart Horn’s parent company. During his career with Buchart Horn and PACE, Funkhouser led the firm’s environmental group and was responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars of water and wastewater system design projects, including efforts to improve water quality throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
