Jones serves as head of a multi-faceted $29 million downtown real estate development company with a mission to revitalize Harrisburg. He has served as president and CEO for 9 years.
He oversees the ownership and management of over 2 million square-feet. of downtown Harrisburg real estate, including commercial office/retail and residential projects and about 250 apartment units. He leads a staff of over 130 employees and a growing development portfolio of new projects. The family of Harristown companies now includes 25 different affiliate companies.
Jones says in 2022 Harrisburg’s downtown has been slowly recovering from the pandemic with many state and private sector employees working from home. This has created a shift in office leasing as many companies are reevaluating how much space they need for their offices. He says Harristown Development Corp. has been working hard to support our retail and food/beverage tenants as they try to adapt to lesser foot traffic in the downtown. The company has also been faced with higher construction costs, which limits its development project activity.
