The Bon-Ton Stores Inc., with corporate offices in York County and Milwaukee, on Thursday reported a 1.3 percent comparable-store sales decline for its first quarter and a larger net loss than during the period last year, according to a news release.
The company recorded a net loss of about $40.8 million, or $2.23 per diluted share, for the 13 weeks that ended April 28 compared with a net loss of about $36 million, or $2.01 per diluted share, during the comparable period a year ago, the release stated.
The Bon-Ton Stores operates 272 department stores, which includes 11 furniture galleries, in 23 states under various names.
Shares are traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol BONT.
