Berkshire Hathaway, Howard Hanna land high on Real Trends list

Central Pennsylvania’s top residential brokerage remains high on a list of leading companies nationwide produced by Colorado-based Real Trends.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Homesale Realty, based in Manor Township, was No. 31 on the latest Real Trends 500 broker ranking report.
Homesale Realty posted 14,139 transactions last year, down from 14,712 in 2017. The Lancaster County broker finished last year with $3.1 billion in sales volume. On Real Trends rankings by volume, Homesale Realty was at No. 54 in the country.
Meanwhile, Pittsburgh-based Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, which continues to expand its midstate presence, remains the No. 3 largest broker in the country for transactions.
Listed under Hanna Holdings Inc., Howard Hanna closed 83,043 transactions and about $16.3 billion in sales volume last year. It ranked sixth in the country for volume.
Hampden Township-based Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Central Pennsylvania is part of New Jersey-based NRT LLC, the nation’s second largest broker. So the Cumberland County company’s numbers are not broken out separately.
NRT finished last year with 337,235 transactions and $176.4 billion in sales volume.
