The Hartman Group, a Lycoming County-based company with an office in the midstate, recently sold its employee benefits division to a New York firm.
Hartman Employee Benefits, Inc. is now part of USI, a national insurance brokerage and consulting firm headquartered in Valhalla, New York, USI announced in a news release Tuesday.
Company officials declined to release the terms of the transaction.
Before the purchase, The Hartman Group had three divisions: Hartman Employee Benefits, Hartman Financial Services and The Hartman Agency. The group operates out of offices in Williamsport, State College and Duncannon.
Hartman Group officials touted the purchase as an opportunity to give clients access to a wider range of products.
USI has offices in every state in the U.S. and employs about 4,400 people.
