The board of directors at Dutchland Inc., has chosen Ben Kauffman to serve as the organization’s next CEO, succeeding his mother, founder and current CEO Katie Kauffman.

Founded in 1985, Sadsbury Township-based Dutchland specializes in engineering, manufacturing, and constructing circular, rectangular and elliptical precast post-tensioned concrete tanks, custom-designed wastewater treatment plants and other specialized concrete products for the water and wastewater industry.

The company’s clients include the U.S. military, municipalities, general contractors and private developers.

Katie Kauffman will retire on Dec. 31.

In addition to naming a new CEO, Dutchland ownership is transitioning from six family members to co-ownership between Ben Kauffman and his brother, Lee.

Before assuming his role as president in 2006, Ben Kauffman worked in all areas of the company.

“Ben is a remarkable leader who has been largely responsible for the growth of Dutchland over the years,” Katie Kauffman said.

“As CEO, I anticipate that Ben will continue to strengthen Dutchland’s position of delivering superior quality precast concrete products to valued customers.”
