Lancaster County’s Bareville Design plans to close its 23,000-foot
Springettsbury Township showroom by the end of the
year, company officials said today.
Five of the eight people who work at the York County
location will be laid off in the closing, said Marketing Manager Andrew Neupauer.
“It really just comes down to the economy,” he said.
Inventory liquidation sales will begin Friday.
The home-furnishings and design company will continue to
operate its main showroom in Upper
Leacock Township,
Neupauer said.
The company also has seen some bright spots: Its flooring
segment grew 20 percent in 2008, and Neupauer said the company is considering
maintaining a flooring showroom in York
County.
