Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants gave Jennifer Barrick its 2018 Young Leader Award for the South Central Chapter for her extraordinary commitment to the profession through involvement in PICPA and the community. Barrick is a senior associate at Chambersburg-based Rotz & Stonesifer PC.
Carlisle-based Cumberland County Conservation District named winners of four awards for 2018.
- Farmer of the Year: Bob and Barb Keefer, owners of Hard Earned Acres in Shippensburg, for demonstrating a concern for soil and water quality by implementing best farm management practices.
- Educator of the Year: Jenny Pyers and Amber Sim, science teachers at Cumberland Valley High School, for their commitment to conservation education programs and activities, including the Cumberland County Envirothon.
- Clean Water Award: Diffenbaugh Wadel Inc., an engineering firm with offices in Newville and Mechanicsburg, for working to minimize adverse impacts of land development on water quality.
- Watershed Protection Award: Carlisle-based Central Pennsylvania Conservancy, for promoting watershed protection through a coordinated land and water resource approach.
Washington, D.C.-based National Association of Home Builders, Executive Officers Council, gave Ashley Fickel the David Lloyd New Executive Officer of the Year Award, given to an executive officer with no more than three years in an association management position and who has made big contributions to the profession. Fickel is executive officer of the Lebanon County Builders Association.
Manheim Township-based Brewers of Pennsylvania gave its inaugural President’s Award to Carol Stoudt for outstanding achievement and extraordinary contributions to the Pennsylvania Craft Beer Industry. Stoudt launched Adamstown-based Stoudts Brewing Company in 1987, becoming the country’s first female brewmaster.
Texas-based Collection Advisor magazine named Donna Nicholson Stief to its list of 20 Most Powerful Women in Collections for her positive influence and leadership in the international accounts receivable management industry. Nicholson Stief is executive director of the Credit Bureau of Lancaster County Inc. and president of the Mid-Atlantic Collectors Association board of directors.
Michigan-based Extracorporeal Life Support Organization gave WellSpan York Hospital its Gold Level Award for Excellence in Life Support for exceptional commitment to evidence-based processes and quality measures, staff training and continuing education, patient satisfaction and ongoing clinical care for life-saving treatment of adult patients with acute heart or lung failure.
Cumberland County-based Society for Marketing Professional Services, Central Pennsylvania Chapter, gave two awards. Leah Williams, of Stahl Sheaffer Engineering LLC, won the 2017-2018 Horizon Award for early success and commitment to the architecture, engineering and construction industry and for outstanding potential. Eric Arcudi, of Stewart & Tate Construction, won the 2017-2018 Keystone Award for a senior professional in the AEC industry for noteworthy career accomplishments and service to the SMPS Chapter.
New York-based Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts gave Grit Marketing Group of York an Award of Distinction as part of its 24th Annual Communicator Awards in the digital/website and visual appeal/aesthetics categories for work on a website for R.S. Mowery & Sons Inc.
Derry Township-based Rotary Club of Hershey presented two awards recently. Susan Cort won its 2018 Community Award for her extraordinary service to the community over the past 30 years. Cort has served on numerous boards in the Hershey area and also serves as a Derry Township supervisor. Richard Hann won the 2018 Packy Award for his dedicated leadership and longstanding service to the club. He has served since 1967, including on board leadership roles and as president in 1980-81.
West Manchester Township-based Bailey Coach named its Motorcoach Drivers of the Year at a recent driver safety meeting: Hal Brook, Gold; Tammie Moore, Silver; and Tom Shellenberger, Bronze.
