Audra Hunter would be the first to tell you she’s taken full advantage of the opportunities offered throughout her career. Hunter, now the director of retail delivery and senior vice president at Pennian Bank in Mifflintown, remembers her first job interview after high school graduation well.
“I was a young mother at 18 who didn’t know what she was going to do with her life, and a local bank decided to take a chance on me,” she recalls. “I was determined to make something of myself and help provide for my family.”
Hunter took the opportunity and has run with it, having spent her entire three decade-plus career in the banking industry. She assumed her current role in 2016.
“Her hard work, determination and thirst for learning has provided the solid foundation for her career,” Pennian Director of Marketing and Business Services Heather Miltenberger says in her nomination letter.
“She consistently mentors others throughout the bank, coaching them with empathy, compassion and honesty.”
Hunter is also active with multiple community organizations, like the Perry Housing Partnership, Perry County Crimestoppers and the Perry County Literacy Council.
“She is deeply connected to her community, and everyone who meets her will tell you about her fun, vivacious personality,” adds Miltenberger.
