A fast-casual Asian fusion restaurant that opened last year in Dauphin County will soon open its first location on the West Shore as part of a regional growth plan.
Freshido is planning to open early next year in the Trindle Run Center in Silver Spring Township. The restaurant specializes in poke bowls — a popular Hawaiian dish that incorporates cubed raw fish or other protein served over a bowl of rice with other seasonings and vegetables.
The company signed a lease for a location, its third overall, at 6455 Carlisle Pike. An opening day has not yet been set.
Co-owner Shawn You said he hopes to be open “sometime in January” as construction continues on the new space. He said he likes the location because it is close to a lot of other retail businesses. The Carlisle Pike also experiences heavy commuter traffic.
Freshido’s first restaurant opened last November at Third and Market streets in downtown Harrisburg. The company’s second location opened last month in the Hershey Towne Square on West Chocolate Avenue in Derry Township.
Freshido was represented in the Cumberland County lease deal by Bo Mangam of Landmark Commercial Realty. Joe Spagnola of Bennett Williams Realty represented the landlord.
Once the Silver Spring location gets open, You said the goal is to continue expanding his made-to-order brand into other parts of Central Pennsylvania. Lancaster County will probably be the next stop for Freshido, he said.
