Shareholder, Government Relations and Public Policy
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC

Giorgione was the first in his family to attend college. “Upon graduation from law school … there weren’t many job opportunities so I landed in state and local government by chance,” he said. “As my career advanced, there was a natural progression into lobbying and dealing with state government.”

Giorgione assists clients with governmental relations, medical marijuana, gaming, public-private partnerships and municipal law and finance.

He has represented both public and private entities providing legal and government affairs representation in Public-Private Partnership transactions throughout the mid-atlantic.

He noted that the heightened political turmoil the past few years has produced significant turnover in the General Assembly, leading to a loss of institutional knowledge. Giorgione encourages newly elected officials “to try to stay open-minded and understand the need for cooperation across the aisle so we can drive impactful change.”

Working on public-private partnerships is very rewarding, he said. “They can have a real impact on local communities by introducing new jobs and increasing the local tax base … . On a personal level, I enjoy supporting my clients through every step of this transaction life cycle – from seeking public support, drafting transaction documents and negotiating financial agreements.”
