Amazon.com Inc., the Seattle-based retail and technology giant, is adding nearly 50 jobs to its Pennsylvania warehouses, including 28 jobs at its facilities in Cumberland and York counties, according to the company website’s careers page.
Ty Rogers, an Amazon spokesman, said Thursday the company wasn’t releasing the total number of jobs for which it’s hiring in Pennsylvania and other states, but directed the Business Journal to the company’s careers page.
Amazon’s Carlisle-area facilities are slated to hire 21 people for human relations, information technology and management positions, according to the website. The company has two warehouses near Carlisle, one at 21 Roadway Drive in Middlesex Township and another at 675 Allen Drive in South Middleton Township.
The company is hiring for seven positions at its warehouse at 500 McCarthy Drive in Fairview Township, according to the website.
On April 25, Amazon announced hiring initiatives at distribution centers around the country, including Arizona, Delaware, Kansas, Kentucky and Nevada.
Amazon is traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol AMZN.
