Smith was named president of HB McClure in June 2021. “Our mission is to make HB a great place to work and to add value, and our four core values are trust, team, grit and growth,” he said. “My job is to make our mission a reality for our employee owners while living our core values every day.”
Smith said he is proud to have worked in a variety of positions within the company, “which provided me with different perspectives on what we do and how we do it.”
He’s learned that relationships matter and require consistent effort, whether it’s mentors, mentees, friends, family, colleagues, teammates, etc.
Outside of the office, Smith spends time with family; exercises; coaches wrestling; and runs a youth league that affects over 1,350 kids. Whether it’s at work, home or in the community, he said he finds ways to make all three fun “because the attitude you bring each day not only adds value to you, but everyone you come in contact with.”
