Northumberland County-based Keystone Insurers Group Inc., one of the nation's largest property and casualty partnerships, is expanding its operations in the Harrisburg area.

Keystone has purchased a nearly 11,700-square-foot office building at 2600 Commerce Drive in Susquehanna Township for nearly $1.8 million from Ritter Insurance Marketing. Ritter is moving to a neighboring building in the office park.

For Keystone, the Dauphin County office more than doubles the space that the company has been leasing in Camp Hill. The insurance company hopes to be in the new building by June.

"We have close to 300 partners, or independent agents, in 12 states and this office is a means for us to expand our headquarters staff," said Michael Azar, the company's CFO and treasurer. "Our main headquarters is in Northumberland, but this new location offers easy access for our partners who come in from other states."

Jim Koury and Jamie Berrier of Lemoyne-based RSR Realtors represented Keystone, while Tom Posavec of East Pennsboro Township-based Landmark Commercial Realty represented the seller.
