The sports company on Wednesday released its first-ever top 25 list for college-level League of Legends programs. League of Legends is a multiplayer battle-arena video game.
The HU Storm came in at No. 4 on the ESPN list.
The top three spots on the ESPN list went to the University of California-Irvine, Maryville University and Columbia College.
In September, HU hosted the HUE Festival, the largest collegiate esports tournament to date, with 32 teams competing in League of Legends and Overwatch, a team-based multiplayer video game.
Maryville University, which is in St. Louis, won the festival's Overwatch tournament. Columbia College, based in Columbia, Missouri, won the League of Legends tournament.
Since the HUE Festival, HU has opened a new practice facility for the Storm at Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. The team, founded last year, also has been beefing up its coaching staff.
