Cumberland County bridge design firm Modjeski and Masters made its first-ever acquisition in 2015.

Now the Colorado-based firm it acquired, Summit Engineering Group, is letting go of its name and becoming Modjeski and Masters.

The Silver Spring Township-based Modjeski and Masters announced the integration of Summit in a news release Tuesday. Summit specializes in segmental concrete bridge design and construction, which bolstered the capabilities at Modjeski and Masters.

The Cumberland County firm is considered to be one of the best in steel design bridges.

Since the fall 2015 deal, Modjeski and Masters has continued to expand. The firm added a North Carolina office in 2016 and a Texas office at the end of last year.

Modjeski and Masters has 12 offices and nearly 200 people on staff.
