Dauphin County Bar Association's newest executive director is scheduled to take on the position in January.

Patrice Merzanis, a former consultant with the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors with 20 years of experience in association management, will be the association's executive director on Jan. 1, 2019.

The association’s chair of its search committee and a member of its board, Renee C. Mattei Myers, said that the board is pleased with the decision to bring on Merzanis.

"She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the association, and I look forward to working with her to strengthen the DCBA as it works to serve the legal profession and the community at large," Mattei Myers said in a press release announcing the new executive director.

While working at the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, Merzanis has served in a number of roles including executive vice president and CEO.

"I am extremely excited to help lead DCBA into the future and to work with the dedicated employees, members and stakeholders on the challenges they face while building on the strong foundation created by the leadership team," Merzanis said in the release.

The association, based in Harrisburg, is partnered with over 1,450 lawyers throughout the county.

Elizabeth Simcox, the association's executive director for the past seven years, said her time with the association has been rewarding personally and professionally.

"I am proud to have been a part of this and it has been my honor to serve and become friends with so many good lawyers," she said.
