Post Acute Medical will be changing its name next year to reflect its plans to bring new health care services under its umbrella.

The health care provider based in Hampden Township, Cumberland County, will be changing its name to Traverse Health System sometime next year.

The change in name will not apply to Post Acute’s rehabilitation facilities for individuals recovering from recent hospitalization located in a number of states, including Pennsylvania, Kansas and Texas.

Instead, it will apply to the company’s corporate offices and new services that Post Acute Medical is looking to provide. But all of the services available by the company will ultimately fall under the Traverse Health System umbrella.

Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer Lisa MacLean said Post Acute Medical will continue in the health care field, but is looking at adding services that will complement its existing services.

"Behavioral health, micro hospitals [small-scale inpatient facilities], telehealth and some areas of expanded outpatient services," MacLean said. "Those are what we are focused on in some of the markets we are in, and in new markets we are talking to partners in those areas."

MacLean said Post Acute will be looking at what services will fit under the Post Acute Medical name and what would benefit more by being housed under the Traverse Health System brand.

"We have experience with some of these areas and we have people in our organization that we brought in," she said. "We are expanding our knowledge base to bring this together."

According to Business Journal records, Post Acute has about 100 employees locally and had $383 million in revenue in 2017.
