Centric Bank voted one of best banks to work for in U.S.
Centric Bank was voted one of American Banker's Best Banks to Work For in 2018.
Centric was the the only bank in Central Pennsylvania to make the list this year. Last year, Mid Penn ranked 32 on the list.
Centric was one of five Pennsylvania banks on this year's list.
Among the other banks in Pennsylvania that made the cut were: 1st Summit Bank in Johnstown, Marquette Savings Bank in Erie, The Muncy Bank and Trust Co. in Muncy and Somerset Trust Co. in Somerset.
"Centric Bank Way culture is grounded in 26 fundamentals that empower each employee to be a difference maker. It's a promise to each other, our customers, and the communities we serve to live our values every day," president and CEO Patricia Husic is said in a statement.
An annual day at Hersheypark the company hosts for employees and their families helped Centric clench its spot. Employees also get a parking pass and vouchers for snacks and games to use throughout the day, and the company hosts a picnic inside a pavilion at the park.
And each quarter, employees can nominate a co-worker who demonstrates outstanding customer service for the Star Award. Winners receive a crystal trophy, cash and recognition on the company intranet.
"From the leadership team to the lenders to the associates, our bank's reputation for high performance is a talent magnet. Employees don't just come to our team, they build a career here,” Christy Pavlakovich, director of human resources for Centric, said in a statement.
The competition, now in its sixth year, identifies and honors U.S. banks for outstanding employee satisfaction. It takes into consideration benefits and policies and the results of an employee satisfaction survey.
The ranking process is managed by Best Companies Groups, which is owned by BridgeTower Media. BridgeTower also owns the Central Penn Business Journal.
Based in Lower Paxton Township, Centric has 107 employees.
Centric Financial Corp., the parent company of Centric Bank, has $682 million in assets. According to its most recent earnings report, the company had net income of $1.9 million in the second quarter of 2018, up from $1.23 million at the same time last year.
Founded in 2007, Centric has four locations around the midstate and two commercial loan offices as well as an operations office in Hampden Township.
