Paper tubes and cores manufacturer Yazoo Mills Inc. has completed the expansion of its facility in Penn Township, York County.

Yazoo said in 2015 that it would double the space of its facility by 45,000 square feet. Initially a distribution center, the expansion of the building has allowed the company to manufacture out of this location as well. In preparation, the company added 30 jobs and now has 130 employees. The project kicked off in the fall 2017 and was completed in phases, said Becci Leathery, marketing coordinator for the company.

Initially, the new space housed raw materials, but is now furnished with production equipment, including an auto-tie baler and shredder for waste processing, fans and other custom-built manufacturing items. The expanded area has been fully operational since the end of July.

By expanding the facility and adding to its workforce, Yazoo is able to produce more products in 48 hours or less, said Leathery.

“This expansion allows us to have the quickest turn-around time in our industry now,” she said.

On average, between its Penn Township and New Oxford facilities, the company produces more than 4 million inches of tubing per day. Between both locations, Yazoo is now operating two facilities totaling 240,000 square feet.

Established in 1902 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, Yazoo is one of country's largest family-owned manufacturers of 100 percent recycled paper tubes and cores used in products like blade-cut tape.

Looks like the company would need more room than before since manufacturing activities have now been approved to be carried out on-site. They would need the space for storage of new inventory as well as to house new headcount as they progress forward.

Well, if business is booming, I don't see why you shouldn't have some sort of expansion going on! I personally see a demand for storage solutions Melbourne south east and we can definitely see that there are more and more people who want to have more options in terms of space, so perhaps I might see some expansions of my own in time to come eh! It's a great time to be dealing in the storage industry at the moment I'll tell you that!
