WellSpan opens new outpatient rehab facility in Hanover
WellSpan Health has opened a new physical rehabilitation facility in Hanover, while another is undergoing renovations.
The new York County site, located at 1000 Carlisle St., will provide athletic training and outpatient physical therapy services in a 5,500 square-foot space. The new facility brings the number of WellSpan rehabilitation locations in York County to 10. The most recent office opening was Rehabilitation at Valley Green in August 2016.
WellSpan Rehabilitation in Hanover employs 13 people and features two physical rehabilitation machines that can evaluate a patient’s ability to perform certain movements during daily activities and in the workplace.
The new facility reflects WellSpan’s commitment to providing a full range of services to Hanover, said Vicky Diamond, vice president of ancillary services at the York Township-based health system.
Another Hanover area rehab facility, at Blooming Grove Road in Penn Township, is currently closed while it undergoes renovations. A reopening is expected later this year.
WellSpan’s urgent orthopedics services are housed at the same location and are undergoing an expansion, but will remain open throughout the renovation. Once the work is complete, rehabilitation, orthopedics and urgent orthopedics service will all be housed at the Blooming Grove Road location.
The Carlisle Street facility will remain open as a second location for the Hanover area.
