Off The Clock: Lancaster Housing Opportunity Partnership
Donations of equipment, supplies and labor from Rhoads Energy, RE Michel, the Home Depot Foundation and the Eden Resort supported the rehabilitation of the Lancaster Barracks, the first of its kind home in Lancaster County for veterans to live while in the later phases of the Veterans Court program. The Home Depot Foundation gave $13,000 in supplies; the Eden Resort provided furniture; and Rhoads Energy staff installed a new HVAC system from RE Michel, for a combined $19,000 donation to the project. Above, Kevin Heidinger of Rhoads Energy works at the Lancaster Barracks.
Giant Food Stores announced a $100,000 donation to the Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness in Lewisburg, to support its children's programming. The nonprofit Miller Center, a 96,000-square-foot center in Union County, fosters a multidisciplinary approach to community health and fitness through wellness programs, activities, events and partnerships. The center is adjacent to the Giant store in East Buffalo Township. The presentation, above, included Giant associates, members of the Miller family, and Miller Center board members.
