PeoplesBank is seeking to expand its footprint in Lancaster County.

The York County bank last month filed an application with the Department of Banking and Securities to open a branch at 2343 Oregon Pike in Manheim Township.

"Opening a full-service retail facility in Lancaster County is a natural extension of PeoplesBank’s footprint," said Larry Miller, president and CEO of Codorus Valley Bancorp Inc., the holding company of PeoplesBank.

PeoplesBank already operates one Lancaster County branch, in East Hempfield Township, and five branches at retirement communities across Lancaster County: Homestead Village in East Hempfield Township, Landis Homes in Manheim Township, Luther Acres in Lititz, Masonic Village in West Donegal Township and Woodcrest Villa in East Hempfield Township.

According to its most recent earnings report, Codorus Valley had a net income of $4.1 million in the first quarter of 2018, up from $3.4 million in the first quarter of 2017.

Based in York Township, the bank has $1.7 billion in assets and operates 37 branches, including 11 satellite offices in retirement communities.
