Off The Clock: First Capital Federal Credit Union
First Capital Federal Credit Union gave $550 to the Salvation Army of York from its second quarter First Cap Gives Back program, the final portion of a total of $1,800 raised. Staff sold peanut butter and coconut Easter eggs to members at all branches, paid $5 to wear jeans on a specific day, and sponsored a table at the Boots and Bags event. Shown above, from left, are Lisa Barshinger, First Capital community engagement officer; Major Dennis Camuti, Salvation Army corps officer and area coordinator; and Sue DeStephano, First Capital president/CEO.
Giant Food Stores announced a $100,000 donation to the Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness in Lewisburg, to support its children's programming. The nonprofit Miller Center, a 96,000-square-foot center in Union County, fosters a multidisciplinary approach to community health and fitness through wellness programs, activities, events and partnerships. The center is adjacent to the Giant store in East Buffalo Township. The presentation, above, included Giant associates, members of the Miller family, and Miller Center board members.
