A new Comfort Inn & Suites hotel has opened near Harrisburg International Airport in Lower Swatara Township.

The 87-room hotel, which broke ground last summer, is located at 1589 W. Harrisburg Pike, about three minutes from the airport.

Restin Hospitality LLC, based in the Hershey area, is the developer. The four-story, 47,000-square-foot hotel will be managed by Prestige Hospitality Group of Albany, New York.

A ribbon-cutting event to commemorate the opening will be held Tuesday afternoon.

The Comfort Inn & Suites is one of the latest hotel projects to emerge near the airport and one of several new hotels across Central Pennsylvania as the hospitality industry bounces back from the last economic downturn.

A Fairfield Inn & Suites is opening at the airport this summer. State College-based Shaner Hotel Group, a hospitality developer behind several midstate Courtyard by Marriott hotels, expects to open the Fairfield by the end of August.
