Dauphin County-based Ollie's Bargain Outlet plans to open a much larger store in Hampden Township this fall.

The growing deep-discount retailer, which has 277 stores nationwide, plans to open a 40,000-square-foot store in the Hampden Commons at 5800 Carlisle Pike by the end of September, said Jerry Altland, vice president of real estate.

Ollie's will fill a store closed last year by appliance, electronics and furniture retailer hhgregg Inc. The new space also will replace a nearby Ollie's store at 6040 Carlisle Pike, which is about 30,000 square feet.

Bennett Williams Realty represented the landlord, Voorhees Environmental Corp.

Ollie's has three new store openings planned for mid-June.

The retailer finished its 2017 fiscal year with net sales of nearly $1.1 billion, an increase of 21 percent from the previous year. Ollie's also opened 34 new stores last year.

Shares of the Lower Paxton Township-based company are traded on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol OLLI.
