After nearly three decades, Bel Paese Italian Ristorante is closing its doors.

The family-owned eatery announced on Facebook that it would close on June 3.

Hundreds offered their memories and experiences in response to the post by the restaurant, which is in an unassuming strip mall near the York Galleria in Springettsbury Township.

Priding itself on serving up authentic Italian dishes, Bel Paese credited its customers for helping it achieve the American dream for 27 years.

"Sal [Ferrante] opened Bel Paese when he was 33, now at 60 years old it is time to stop and smell the roses," the post read. "Sal, Antonella, Stefania and the family appreciate your understanding at this time as we move to a new chapter."

Bel Paese could not be reached as of press time.
