An Oregon company that makes glass curtain wall and facade systems for skyscrapers and other commercial structures is closing its assembly warehouse in Lebanon County this summer, a move that will impact 112 local workers.

Portland-based Benson Industries Inc., which is owned by a subsidiary of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, filed a layoff notice May 4 with the state Department of Labor and Industry under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, or WARN.

The facility at 1 Keystone Drive in South Lebanon Township, according to the notice, is expected to close by July 6.

Rebeka Teets, the company's director of culture and people services, said a current unnamed project at the Lebanon County site is nearing completion and there aren't any other projects slated to be done in the facility.

Benson has offices across North America, including near Seattle and in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York City. It also has offices in Korea, Singapore and the Philippines, as well as an assembly warehouse in Mexico.

The company has worked on projects for many large buildings, including the New York Times Building and One World Trade Center in New York City and Nike headquarters in Oregon.
