Lehigh University on Tuesday welcomed the addition of a financial education center operated by PSECU in a newly renovated building on campus.

The Lehigh University location is the credit union’s 24th financial education center.

The centers provide financial services to an institution’s students, faculty and staff where eligible for PSECU membership. Lehigh University students, faculty and staff are all eligible to become PSECU members.

The centers also provide internship opportunities for students looking to gain real-world experience in areas such as marketing and business operations. In addition, the centers are a place to hold workshops for those interested in learning more about managing their finances, PSECU spokesman David Misner said.

Five Lehigh University students have been offered paid, part-time internships to staff the PSECU center. The students will work alongside Candice Richards, PSECU’s community manager at Lehigh University.

"We're pleased to welcome PSECU and their Financial Education Center to Lehigh's campus and look forward to the partnership," Patricia A. Johnson, Lehigh's vice president of finance and administration, said in a statement.

Founded in 1934, PSECU has $5 billion in assets and nearly 450,000 members.
