Hershey Co. exec retiring in March
A top executive at The Hershey Co. is stepping down this year.
Leslie Turner, a senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for the Derry Township-based candy and snack company, has decided to retire, effective March 31, the company said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Turner has been with Hershey since 2012. She was hired to lead the company's legal, government relations, corporate security and corporate secretary functions, reporting directly to the company's president and CEO.
She joined Hershey with 25 years of legal experience. Prior to Hershey, she was chief legal officer for Coca-Cola North America. She has served as a senior legal executive to business leaders of Fortune 100 and 500 companies.
Hershey officials said the company has launched a search for Turner's replacement.
Hershey has been busy in recent years diversifying its product line with acquisitions of snack companies. Last month, the company announced plans to buy Amplify Snack Brands Inc., the Texas-based maker of SkinnyPop popcorn and Oatmega protein bars.
