As a child, Emily H. Edmunds wanted to be an astronaut after her father took her to see Halley’s Comet, which began her lifelong love of astronomy. But she does not rely on the stars for glimpses of the future because she believes that one of the best things about life is the surprises that it throws your way. The best mistake Edmunds ever made was attending a weekend continuing legal education course, because she met her husband there. Instead of trying to cover up mistakes, she would advise others to deal with them. She is motivated by being around successful people and is totally passionate about helping people remove barriers to employment. Edmunds believes steady, meaningful employment opens up avenues in all areas of life. For her 40th birthday, she plans to be wine tasting with her husband in Michigan, and in five years, she sees herself as a partner at her firm and starting a family.
