Samuel A. Kieffer, 38 Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, Administrative Secretary & Chief Administrative Officer
Samuel A. Kieffer grew up on a farm. In addition to the unpaid farm work he did at home, his first paying jobs were helping neighbors move hay and straw bales into storage. These experiences instilled in him the importance of seeing tasks through to the end, no matter how grueling or uncomfortable the process. He is motivated by the fortitude, resilience and integrity of American farm families and passionate about the power of food and how it can transform lives, nations and entire civilizations. If Kieffer were to pass along a piece of advice, it would be that being successful at business is important, but it’s not everything. Thankfully, his wife and two wonderful children help him remember that there is more to life than work obligations. If he could take a yearlong hiatus, he would travel around Germany (beer in hand, of course) getting to know the local cultures and small towns — not just the tourist attractions.
