A Lancaster County precast concrete company has expanded its ownership group as part of a long-term succession plan.

Ephrata Township-based Weaver Precast Inc. announced this week that Doug Pfautz and Janessa Weaver have joined the ownership group as partners with Gary Weaver.

Gary Weaver, the company's president and CEO, said the change took effect Jan. 1 and is the first step in a multi-year plan to transfer operations and ownership of the 60-year-old company. Weaver Precast also does business as Superior Walls by Weaver Northeast as a licensee of East Earl Township-based Superior Walls of America.

Janessa Weaver, his daughter, has been with the company for 10 years. She will now serve as director of sales for the company.

Pfautz, the company's director of operations, has been with Weaver Precast for 20 years. He has served in various operational, sales and customer service roles.

Weaver Precast employs 60 people. Its service area includes southeastern Pennsylvania, along with parts of Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia. In 2012, Weaver expanded into New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and parts of Massachusetts and Vermont through an acquisition.

The company started in 1958 as Charles W. Weaver Inc., a residential masonry contracting firm founded by Gary Weaver's father and grandfather, Charles and Luke Weaver. It was later renamed Weaver Masonry.

The Weaver family started Weaver Precast in 1985. Gary Weaver ran both companies until 2013 when the two companies split. He sold the masonry business to his cousin, Nevin Weaver, who started NR Weaver Masonry.
