Off The Clock: Giant Food Stores
Giant Food Stores continued its Feeding Our Neighbors Every Day holiday campaign with a $27,000 donation to The Salvation Army, Lancaster Corps, which helps local families, individuals and seniors who are faced with hunger. The donation is part of a total of $155,000 in contributions to seven regional Salvation Army organizations, which provided 930,000 meals to families during the holiday season. Shown, from left, are Tim Rehman, assistant store manager at Giant's Lititz Pike, Lancaster, location, and Captain Tim Sheehan, commanding officer of the Lancaster Salvation Army.
Giant Food Stores announced a $100,000 donation to the Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness in Lewisburg, to support its children's programming. The nonprofit Miller Center, a 96,000-square-foot center in Union County, fosters a multidisciplinary approach to community health and fitness through wellness programs, activities, events and partnerships. The center is adjacent to the Giant store in East Buffalo Township. The presentation, above, included Giant associates, members of the Miller family, and Miller Center board members.
