Cumberland County bridge design firm names new CEO
Less than a month after announcing the retirement of its CEO, a Cumberland County engineering firm has filled the role with one of its own.
He replaces Barney Martin Jr., who worked for the company, which specializes in bridge design, since 1976. Martin became CEO in 2013.
Martin remains a board member emeritus and senior technical adviser.
Britt began his career with Modjeski and Masters in 1979 as a co-op student while attending Drexel University. He briefly left Modjeski and Masters in 1989 to serve as the assistant division bridge engineer in the Pennsylvania Division of the Federal Highway Administration.
Upon being hired back full-time, he served as director of business development for several years before being promoted to associate in 1997.
"I've always been honored to be part of Modjeski and Masters, and I'm humbled that the board of directors has elected me to this position," Britt said. "With the continued support and guidance of the board and staff, I am confident we will meet the challenges ahead of us and continue along the path laid out by our chairman, Dr. Zolan Prucz, and retiring CEO, Dr. Barney Martin."
Britt spoke with the Business Journal last February about growth opportunities for the firm.
